There are various ways to earn money online, Google has thousands and thousands of results if try to search for “making money online,” and each one promises to teach you the best way and the most favorable results. But there are other options if you are really into making money online, options that require you a lot of time and effort and will sharpen your writing pen and grind your thinking—that is creating eBooks.

Writing information for any particular things or topic interests a lot of people, from raising chickens to how to build a personal computer has its particular audiences that crave for more informative materials within their reach. It is just a matter of strategy in figuring out what are the most popular keywords that people are searching for as of the moment and the ability to pitch it forward into an eBook and eventually selling it online. People are willing to pay some amount for well written information that they can use either on their website or any practical utilization in their daily lives.

Why eBook?

The most popular format for an eBook is PDF it gives ample flexibility and security to written information and can be easily sent or downloaded by a subscriber or a customer. Although eBook is considered as a weak substitute to a real book, it has its substantial characteristic that makes it convenient and portable information container that you can print, copy and send to others. With the advent of Kindle in the market today, the clamor of having quality eBooks in the market rises.

However, people are still in the “real thing” preferring ink written on dead trees and scribed by the real authors—that is why Amazon still ticks when it comes to book selling. One thing that an eBook writer should consider about choosing a topic is to stay away from topics that the real books had already covered.

We can safely say that writing an eBook is a halfway house that we have to spend the night with while we are on our way travelling to our real house. I say this because if you are going to write a 200 page eBook might as well find a publisher and turn your eBook ideas into a real book and have it published. However, if it’s just only fewer than 100 pages, an eBook will do the trick.

Solving Problems with eBook

The best selling eBooks today are those that solve problems and gives unique advice to people. No, you don’t need to write how to solve the war among the ethnic groups in Eastern Europe nor the famine in Africa and Asia, just some simple problem solution in our daily lives are good enough.

EBooks fewer than 100 pages turn a sweet profit, even those 10 to 50 pages long—just make sure that the information contained in your eBook is beneficial and could prove to be a problem solution or holds informative ideas for the readers. People are willing to pay for information that is valuable to them.

You may think that the idea for an eBook in your head is just but ordinary and can be found in the internet through Google. You will be surprised to know that people doesn’t like to do intense searching in the net and would always want a “one-stop-shop-solution” for their problems and are often doubtful on those free information sources that is being offered around.

Over time, if you are into developing your writing skills and authority in the topic and genre that you choose, people will surely recognize you and will eventually earned their respect. The eBooks that you write will slowly gain conviction and credibility—and that could spell good profit for you.

The key to a successful eBook is to write what you love most. No matter what the topic maybe as long as you write it with your heart it will shine the brightest glow in the populated eBook writing profession.

Good profit through the internet does not come knocking at your door or just landing on your lap while browsing. You have to work for it and earn it. Do not be swayed by those “making-money-online-while-sleeping” scheme you can find everywhere in the net. Of course you may find writing eBooks and selling it online difficult at first. Just stay focused and enjoy what you are doing, and eventually you will get the hang of writing automatically whatever ideas that you have in mind.

Ten Timeless Persuasive Writing Techniques

Posted by The Gate Keeper | Blogging, Tutorials | Friday 4 September 2009 12:41 pm

It is a common thing to persuade others to agree always with what you believe in. Actually, persuasion is an exercise to be able to make a win-win situation. Well you just need a case to be presented that will encourage others to find that case to be beneficial for them. An offer will be made that you cannot refuse, but of course it is not a threatening offer, if you get what I mean. It is just a good deal that will make sense to your target party. However, there are other methods that will make you work easier and more compelling. Here are ten strategies that are usable and guaranteed that it is working.

Repetition. This strategy is very important and is critical in persuasive writing; the reason is a certain person won’t be able to agree with you if they will not get the meaning of the message that you like to impart. There is also what is called the good and the bad repetition. To be able to settle on the good repetition side, be sure to state your point in many ways like using a quote from a famous person and state it again in your summary.

Explain Extensively Why. The word ‘because’ according to psychological studies shows that compliance to the request by a person is more likely to occur if there is a reason why, even if the reason stated makes no sense at all. It is a common thing among people that we don’t like to be told things or be requested to take action without an explanation at all. If you need people to listen to you, try to always give the reasons why.

Consistency. Normally we do not want to be inconsistent as being such is connected with instability while being consistent is associated with having a rational behavior. It is best to use this in your writing so as to get the reader to agree with something that is present thus most people have a difficult time disagreeing with. Then with many evidences at hand, this will make your case as substantial and related to the ultimate point on towards back to the opening situation that was accepted already.

Social Proof. Try to look for someone to guide you on what to do and what to accept. These things are one of the most powerful psychological forces in our lives today. It is the driving force behind social media; examples of which are found in outside referrals and testimonials. You may easily incorporate the social proof elements in your writing. These may range from skillful alignment with the outside authorities to the name dropping.

Comparisons. Metaphors, analogies and similes are the common best friends of a persuasive writer. If you can relate your situation to something that the reader accepts as true, convincing someone will easily come your way. Comparison actually works in other ways also. At times you may be more persuasive by making a comparison orange to grape. Try not to compare the price of your home study course to a similar course price. Maybe you can compare it with the price of a live seminar or your consulting rate by the hour.

Advocate and Solve. This is the theme of persuasion that effectively works as an overall approach to your case. First and foremost, identification of the problem is defined and then audience qualification. Then try to advocate the pain of the reader before giving out a solution that will really make it better. Advocating before persuasion is not being sadistic, but it is all about empathy. The situation is you want the reader to know that you understand the problem since you’ve encountered it and experienced at removing it. If you really feel the pain of the prospect the credibility of your solution will really go a long way.

Forecast. This persuasion theme will let the reader get a glimpse into the future. If you will be able to present a list of the current events into the most likely situations that will happen, you will then be able to have followers in the long run. This will be entirely based on being credible. But be sure to provide some evidence to your claims as you will really look foolish if you have no idea of what you are talking about. And your persuasive technique will not be effective after all.

Join a Group. It is part of human nature to be part of a group and not to live by himself alone. Try to offer a chance to someone to be part of a group whether green or hip and they will join whatever group is offered to them. Try to find out what group most people want to be in and simply just offer them an invitation to join while excluding others.

Address Objections. If your case is presented and then somebody agrees with reluctance, then you’ve lost. The trick is direct marketers use the so-called long copy. What other marketers do is they want you to read enough until you buy. Try to address all sort of potential objections of most of the readers. This is tough but you have to really know your topic and the arguments against you should really be obvious. If you have no rational objections to what you really believe in, you will be shocked to find out for the comments that will come.

Storytelling. This is a technique that is really a catch-all method. You should use this to combine with any or all of the previously tackled strategies mentioned here. Well, stories allow the people to convince themselves and this is what it is all about. You may say we just help others decide on their own that we are right, and we never convince others of anything at all. Just try to do everything you can to tell better stories each time and you will soon find out that you are a good persuasive person.

This is not a fully complete catalog of techniques. What other writing strategies you think that may likely persuade others to work?

Many of us don’t know that there are other fun ways to do in Windows XP besides being the most reliable OS for now. If you are fond of discovering things and would like to see beyond what’s being presented to you, “hacking” tips would probably excite you. Great inventions come from curious minds that are never satisfied discovering things beyond what is presented within face value.

Here are some “hacking” tips to make your windows experience a little bit exciting, remember that you need a basic understanding of Windows registry first in order to follow the instructions accurately, if not, well it’s time for you to learn now.  One important notice though, whenever you make changes in the Windows registry refreshing it a number of times would enable the changes to take effect. You can do it by simply pressing the F5 button. If that doesn’t work restart your computer.

How to Exit Windows in a Quick and Cool Way

Shutting down your computer sometimes would take a lot of time and process, there are at least 3 to 4 order of procedures before you finally shuts down your system by clicking and pointing your cursor in the process. With this simple step of creating a shortcut on your desktop, you can immediately shut down your computer with single click. Here’s how to do it:

Start by creating a new shortcut on your desktop. Right click on your desktop panel>select New>Shortcut. A command line box should appear (see figure 1.0)

Figure 1.0 command box

Figure 1.0

In the command line box, type: C:\windows\rundll.exeuser.exe,exitwindowsexec

This will restart your windows immediately, however, to create a shortcut to restarting Windows, you should type this in the command line box:   c:\windows\rundll.exe user.exe, exitwindows

The shortcut created in your desktop will shut down without any warning if clicked. You can change the Icon of your shutdown shortcut to make it look cool by simply right clicking the icon>properties>customize>change icon.

I rename my icon “do not click” as some other users is sure is curious to a “do not touch” warning, and the more you prevented them from touching something the more they will do it. It is indeed priceless to see the look in their faces if they “accidentally” clicked the shut down button on your desktop.

Prevent Shutdown

This is a cool trick to play on shared computers. This “hacking” trick will prevent shutdown on your computer and will send a user baffled on the “unusual” computer behavior while you are laughing your asses out. This involves editing the registry that is why it is advisable to create a back up first.

Launch regedit.exe and go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Look for a NoClosekey on the right pane. If you can’t find it, create it by right clicking the right pane, select New>string value>(name it as NoCloseKey). Now that you have the NoCloseKey on the right pane, right click it and select modify and input 1 in the value data box.

This will disable the shut down on your computer with the following warning:

“This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.”

You can enable again the shutdown by changing the value of NoClosekey to 0. Or better yet delete the NoCloseKey entry you have created.
